Truly unique selection of signature cocktails. Don’t sleep on the Ctrl shift n. Duck confit was incredibly rich yet not fatty; love that you can get them by the pair. The savoury churros were crisp and the accompanying pimento cheese spread was addictive. My only complaint was I wish there were more of it.
I had a lovely time here with friends as it was their first time having canapés! The cocktails were amazing and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the drinks. We all got the tasting menu but unfortunately they ran out of the pork jowl, so they substituted that course with beef tartare and savoury churros. All of the canapés were delicious and I highly recommend getting the tasting menu as you won’t regret trying everything. Overall, I would definitely come here again as it ticks all my boxes for what makes a great bar, good ambience, service, cocktails and food !
The cocktails are amazing, we tried 8 of them and the two mezcal based were incredible! Drop the bol was so tasty and the strawberry one was delicious! The forbidden negroni was good but very coconut forward so that is surprising! The food is good but very small portion for the tartare. The lobster canapé was fabulous! And very positively surprised by the savoury churros, delicious! The pork jowl was just fat did not like it!
Great location and amazing drinks. I appreciated the level of detail they placed in their menu design, by not only listing the ingredients but also the quick description of the drink's vibe. The standout drink for me was the one described as a PB&J. I havn't felt that type of a texture before in a drink and really lives up to the name, I would recommend it for something you wouldn't normally experience. The small plates were a lot more intricate than expected, and tasted very good, great quality for bar food. Especially towards the end, I was not expecting to see the souffle as an option, or how well it was executed. I would recommend going to this place as a regular location for drinks, or a special occasion based on the price point but well worth visiting!
We were a group of 5 and we all had a wonderful time. Great food, great service & the ambiance was lovely.
I’m a sucker for a good negroni, their adaptation on the classic was incredible and I’ve been thinking about it since having it. The way that they treat their ingredients from their house fig vermouth to the coconut infused gin, the care that goes into the ingredients is fascinating and definitely reflects into the product. Was a slow evening when I got there but had a wonderful time regardless of that. Looking forward to returning to try other drinks on the menu; quite a few curious ones on there.
Loved the atmosphere of this place! Service was super nice and friendly! We accidentally spilled two of our drinks and they quickly remade it for us without charge. All the drinks we got were perfect! But my favourite would have to be Sonic the hedgehog. Food was good too! I recommend the beef tartare. Overall: good vibes, food, and drinks. I will def come back!
This is a delayed review but it popped into my mind this morning and it’s worth noting; Bar Banane‘s dining experience is incredibly designed and curated. Intricate flavour combinations and visually appealing dishes bring your experience to another level. 4 of my girlfriends and I enjoyed the canapé tasting menu. We started from the top and went right to the end - I ordered extra of the pork jowl. We tacked on the soufflé as well - divine. We were comfortably full after the meal and each one of us had a different favourite, for a different reason. The menu is so artfully created and you can tell from the flavours and execution that each member working there takes great pride in what they do. The cocktails were also delicious and prepared by a competition winning “bartender” (probably called something way more elaborate but I’m a simpleton haha) I may add! This is a perfect spot for an upscale night out with friends, date, business meeting - what have you. I am looking forward to returning in the future and seeing what the chef’s (especially the pastry chef) come up with!
